First off, the Chop Shop is now upgradeable to level 13:

While the 85 Car Part every 24 hours is nice, the new vehicle (Day Rider 2K) is pretty weak with only 45 attack, 50 defense, and +1 attack and +1 defense. Hopefully it gets upgraded a bit soon.

What is more exciting is that starting in just a few hours (or probably will have started by the time you read this) is that the Chop Shop will be able to produce 1 car every 12 hours and there is a new, limited time car called the Future Shock 1985.

The Future Shock 1985 will only be able to be built for a limited time, has a beefy 55 attack and 45 defense, and will “provide energy, stamina, and health”. Not sure how much stats it will give just yet, but we will find out within a few hours.

This event, entitled “Gone in 60 Hours”, will only last 60 hours. In theory if you build things immediately, you will be able to get 5 Future Shock 1985s.

As far as the other new things in game, as part of the “must play weekend”, we are supposed to be able to get some “Vegas Chips” which will give us an “advantage” in Mafia Wars Las Vegas. Not sure what advantage that is, but anything that gives me a head-start in Mafia Wars Las Vegas is good for me.

Players will also get double job mastery and double loot on fights this weekend.

As most of you have noticed by now, amongst all these job additions, the Top Mafia Wheelman and Top Mafia Mastermind bonuses have been stealth-nerfed to 10% (from 11%). This makes speed leveling a good bit harder.

The thing is though that the Bangkok XP:Energy job buffs were significant enough that it is still much easier to finish off Bangkok now than it was prior to the XP:Energy nerf. It makes it harder to finish off other cities though for new players.

Not sure what to think about this. The drop to 10%/10% isn’t that substantial I do not think; players will still be able to speed-level with energy accounts. The only difference now is that it will be harder for players to get to level 3000+ just by spamming Settle a Beef over and over again.

I think that if the nerfs go any further (I’m sure they will), players will really feel the pinch at 9%/9% and 8%/8%. The developers have already stated they do not like the power of these Top Mafia bonuses and are looking to tone them down. It’s a double-edged sword really.

Yes, speed-leveling is kind of silly, but now that everyone is already level 1000+ (if you aren’t by now, you better hurry up because the chance won’t last much longer), it will make it very hard for brand new players to get ahead, unless major changes to game mechanics are created.

In typical online RPG games there is a soft-reset with each expansion – the level cap is raised and players farm all new gear and get all new levels, so even brand-new players can catch up every so often. In Mafia Wars, since there is no “level cap”, new players will never catch up and there will never be a true reset.

Just something to think about! At any rate, lots of new stuff is coming and there will be a few more posts soon.

1. Master Jimmy Vegas event to 100%.

Pretty straight-forward – do the limited-time jobs! Here is the job list:

The 5 minute job will provide you a lot of mastery points if repeated regularly, but it will cost you the most energy. The 24 hour job has a low energy cost and pays a lot of EXP, but only provides 20% mastery. It is a good idea to do at least some 5 minute and 8 hour wjobs prior to switching over to the 24 hour job.

Each job can also drop loot pieces:

Bribe A Guard For Roof Access – Trio Berella (vehicle; 32 attack, 23 defense)

2. Complete the Slots Collection

Just like with other similar events, the Slots Collection is spread between the limited time job, normal jobs, fighting, and gifting. Here is the item list and where they can be found:

The best way to get the Jimmy Vegas collection pieces is to do the 5-minute job. The Last Score of 2009 job is different than other event or holiday jobs in that for the first time players will be able to choose their own path with three separate jobs to choose from.

Each job has its own rewards and time frame. Here is a quick breakdown of the jobs that are available along with their pertinent information.

When given the opportunity to publish these jobs on your wall you should do so because any mafia members who click on “Score Big” will be awarded 2 Free Reward Points.

5. Changing your title to a lower level in order to trick people into attacking you, thinking you’re at a lower level than you really are. e.g. You have a “Street Thug” title when you already beat the Boss level. (Maybe you just forgot to update your title. The fact that Zynga allows one to change your title means it is part of the game play.)

So you are here to learn how you can get more energy in Mafia Wars? The energy points are very vital and important when you are doing jobs. With the tips contained in this article, you will soon gain an unfair upper-hand advantage over the clueless and ignorant players. When an unfair advantage exists and you utilize it, that’s the first step to total Mafia Wars domination.

Energy Packs

Avoid using energy packs in the beginning to level up quickly.  This is an expensive us of energy packs.  A good use for energy packs is to use them when doing missions to accumulate consumables such as concealable cameras, untraceable cell phones, computer set ups, etc.

Pick The Jobs With High Payout|Low Energy Cost

Take on jobs that that have high payouts.  Do the math.  It’s simple.   Each mission in Mafia Wars you to view the cost by looking at the description under the jobs tab.  Perform missions that have low energy cost but high payouts.

Obtain Collections That Give Energy

What you need to do is get all the collections that give you stamina or energy bonuses, so you will get additional energy every single level to do more jobs.

The Skill Points

When you level up you will be awarded with 5 skill points which you can use to improve your character. Most gamers in the game add the points for health, attack and defense ratings. That’s fine but if you are going to become better than most people, you must start increasing your energy points with the skill points.

Here’s why – when your energy points are aplenty you will be able to master jobs and get rewarded with powerful items. And  there are obviously other ways to improve your team’s attack and defense ratings. When you have a high energy capacity, as you level up, your energy will get replenished and this allows you to do more jobs and obtain more items than most players.

Godfather Points

The godfather points can be a very helpful tool if you use them wisely. I recommend using the godfather points for replenishment of energy when you feel it’s appropriate to do so. The godfather reward points are useless if you are not utilizing its benefits. It’s unwise to let your godfather points gather dust.

Energy Management

The life blood of  Mafia Wars character is energy. Energy management is a skill that you need to master if you want to level effectively. I have compiled a detailed list of the most energy efficient jobs per tier.

The jobs listed have the highest experience points ratio and work together like magic to give you the most bang per energy point.

This list was created using the basic knowledge that you must have the best mafia in place in your top mafia slots. If not the jobs should still be the highest EPR per tier but will not be exactly as I have listed.

EPR – Experience Point Ratio

Example:
1 energy for 1 Experience Point = 1 EPR
5 energy for 6 Experience Points = 1.2 EPR
8 energy for 16 Experience Points = 2 EPR

It is calculated simply by taking the experience a job gives and dividing that value by the amount of energy required to complete the job. The higher it is the better. If you want a tool to easily check what ratio is best check out Verns exp/energy tool

Job requirements:  Tokens and cars which you can make on this tier by completing the Manufacture Tokens and Get Cheating Deck jobs in the jobs preparation section of this tier.   The great thing about using this strategy is that both jobs have an EPR of 1.75.  Make to factor this in when working on this tier.

Whack a Rival Crew Leader (1.833)

Consigliere Tier
Dispose of a Body (1.909)

Underboss Tier
Order a Hit on a Public Official (2.065)

This job requires an Untraceable Cell Phone which you can get by doing “Rob an Electronic Store” on the Enforcer tier. It only has an EPR of 1.381 so you will have to use it to fill in when you have more than enough energy to level.

The first on the list “Establish a Loansharking Buisness” requires 3 Politico Corrupto per job. These are acquired by taking over a Bribery Ring in the Cuban business section. You will need a lot of these so buy that business and upgrade it as fast as you can.

In this article you will find some useful tips and strategies about how to avoid being robbed in Mafia Wars.If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been robbed… and are probably Anyone who has owned property in Mafia Wars knows that being robbed is a pain in the butt. Depending on the type or property you own repairs can be down right painful with the cost of repairs and lost income.With that said I am going to give you some simple Mafia Wars Strategies that will help you in robbery situations.

Here’s the kicker: he’s never been robbed, ever.

Without further ado, here are my top 8 Strategies on how not to get robbed:

1.)Make sure your mafia is equipped.

Mafia members are only as strong as the weapons and armor you give them. Make sure every mafia member has a decent weapon, armor, and vehicle to use. If you don’t have money for that, then why are you buying property?

2.) Mafia Size

Since you can only use a number of mafia equivalent to your level grow your mafia along with your character. This should not be hard with the number of “add me” groups on both Facebook and Myspace. If you use one of these groups you should have a mafia size of 501+ in no time.

3.) Keep Leveling

Low levels in robbery situations mean trouble. The number of mafia that you can use in defense is equal to your level. More levels mean more defenders.

4.)Don’t put people on the hitlist.

If you WANT to get robbed, be sure to put someone on the hitlist. Not only will the person you put a hit out on rob you repeatedly, but so will his friends. Additionally, when someone posts a hit, their name is shown on the hitlist as well. Some bored higher level players get entertainment out of robbing and attacking people who put out hits rather than attacking for the reward money! Avoid putting your name out there and you won’t get robbed (or attacked) as much.

5.) Equipment

Get the best equipment that you can for your mafia. Do everything in your power to have the best weapons, armor, and vehicles in numbers at least equivalent to your level. Every defender needs to have the best.

6.) Stay Clean

If you do not want to be robbed then don’t rob others. This is one of the best mafia wars tips on robbery. If your rob others expect it in return and don’t whine when it happens.

7.)Protect your property.

Protecting your proper ty is not as expensive as you might think – it only needs to be done once if you never get robbed! If you followed steps 1-5 and protect your property, the your odds of getting robbed are slim-to-none. If you never have to pay for repairs, you’ll save a lot of money!

8.)Smoke and Mirrors

When someone sizes you up as a potential mark they are going to look at your mafia size and your number of wins versus losses. If you have a high win versus loss record a robber may think twice, especially if you are defending with a number of mafia equal to your level.

To increase your win loss ratio all you have to do is start another account with a low level character on it. Bookmark their mafia wars page and then every level use up your attacks on them. In time this will allow you to appear tougher than you are.

9.) Win a lot of fights.

In Mafia Wars, the best defense is a good offense. When robbing someone, you can only see a few statistics – number of mafia members, whether the property is protected, and the profile stats (such as fights won and lost) of the person you are trying to rob. Since a player can’t actually see your defense rating, a high level of defense does little to deter attacks. What they can see however, is your win to loss ratio on fights. I know I’m a lot less likely to try to fight or rob someone that has won 10,000 fights and only lost 1,000! However, when I see someone who has lost many more fights then they have won, I know it’s an easy target.
