The Mafia Wars Blueprint, the newest in a long line of recent game guide releases for Mafia Wars made its way to my desktop over the weekend and after giving it a read, I wanted to share my thoughts with everyone about how the newest in the current batch of game guides for the world’s fastest growing social game turned out.

Vital Stats
There are several vital statistics that will determine your character’s ability to continue playing and moving up in the game. These are health, stamina, and energy. As you complete jobs and get involved in fights, your energy and health will be effected. These stores are gradually replenished over time, and have varying degrees of influence on your ability to keep playing Mafia Wars.
Hitting the Streets
When you start playing Mafia Wars, your character will be a street thug whose only source of income is Louie’s Deli. This gives you $250 every three hours, but that’s hardly enough if you want to build a mafia empire. You’ll need to acquire all kinds of equipment and vehicles for yourself and for the mafia you’re going to put together. But you can’t get any of those things without cash. You need to get some more money coming in fast.
Building Up Your Mafia
When you’re first starting out in Mafia Wars, you can take care of most jobs, and even the occasional fight, on your own. As you start to accumulate assets and take on bigger jobs though, you’ll need to have some help. Recruiting other players to join your mafia is the only way you’re going to be able to be successful in the game, and there are several ways of going about this.
Cash Flow and Money Management
Of course, to go out and buy all of this equipment, you’ll need an awful lot of money. You’re not going to be able to get enough doing jobs. You simply won’t have enough energy to accumulate money fast enough. You could also fight other players to get money. If you win, you can take some from them, but this is a draining way to build up your bank account. Plus it just doesn’t provide a consistent cash flow.
All About Godfather Points
Godfather reward points are not easy to come by when you’re playing Mafia Wars. They are extremely useful though, so you’ll need to make sure you get the most out of the ones you’re able to accumulate. There are several ways to earn Godfather points, and plenty of ways to spend them. At the beginning of the game, it can be tempting to use these points as soon as you get your hands on them. You’ll be very happy later on if you resist this initial urge.
Fights
It is possible to survive in Mafia Wars by fighting. You may even eventually be able to prosper. It’s not the best way to get to the top for a number of reasons though. Once you’re established, there’s certainly no harm in picking some fights and exerting your influence. But it’s best to wait until you’ve got the muscle behind you to back up your bravado.
Working hard and investing should be your priorities early on. If you’re focused on fighting, you won’t be able to do this though. In order to win fights on a regular basis, you’ll be dumping money into buying weapons and armor and hospital bills. You’ll also have to invest some skill points into building up your health and stamina maximums and all of this takes away from your ability to do jobs and purchase property.
No matter what level you’re at or what approach you take to moving up though, you’ll have occasion to fight on a somewhat regular basis. Other people will pick fights with you and you’ll have to be prepared to defend yourself and you assets. Spending a bit of money to plan ahead for this eventuality will serve you well in the long run.
Cuba
Once you’ve reached level 35 in Mafia Wars in New York, you’ll have to option of flying to Cuba to establish a presence for your family and take on some new challenges. This is a great way to keep the game play fun and interesting as you reach the higher levels. If you’ve gotten to level 35, you’ve got to be a seasoned veteran of the game already and know how to work the system. There are some significant differences in the way things work in Cuba. You can run into trouble fast if you don’t know what you’re dealing with and what to look for.
Russia
Once you’ve reached level 70 in Mafia Wars, you’ll have to option of flying to Moscow to establish a presence for your family and take on some new challenges. Players from level 70 and above are given access to Russia and upon reaching, you will need to make a choice between the two rivals that dominate the Moscow crime scene.
You will have to choose to join either the modern Russian Mafiya group or the traditional Vory gang. Most players believe that there is no difference between both these groups but you will find out that there are key differences as each faction offers different rewards, loot items, experience points and energy needed for each task.
Bangkok
Upon completion of Moscow, there is a new location for Mafia Wars, this being Bangkok. Recently, all job tiers have been opened for Bangkok (i.e. Episode 1-5) and there have been some new additions to the game.
Mafia Wars Bangkok has a live Fight Page whereby the player choose to fight the Yakuza or Triad faction members. This is something new and exciting because the player can improve their gang reputation or ‘street credit’ by killing members of the opposing faction. By killing members of an opposing side, you will get more points than if you do otherwise.
For example, a player who is affiliated with the Triad faction is better off killing the Yakuza members on the Fight Page as the player will then get higher faction points for being a loyal killer. Another interesting bit in Bangkok is that loyalty to one criminal organization is important; therefore, you and your clan mates / friends will really have to organize yourselves in only 1 faction to become stronger.
There are now 90 new jobs to do in Mafia Wars Bangkok which can earn you more powerful items. Even if you have low Energy in Bangkok’s faction based fighting, they can now go higher up in the rankings much easier. But, the higher your faction standing, the better items or weapons you can acquire from your faction which is why most players try for the high attack items by joining the Yakuza.
Conclusion
There’s no one way to be successful at Mafia Wars. That’s part of what makes it such a great game though. You’ve got to make good business decisions and accumulate allies if you’re going to get anywhere in this underworld. The tips and tricks in this book can go a long way towards helping you build a powerful mafia empire.
